Diving

Although much of South Nilandhoo Atoll has not been discovered in terms of diving, prior to the end of 1998, within the short period since, a number of exciting dive sites has been discovered. Vilu Reef is situated in the northeast corner of the atoll, which offers some of the best diving in the atoll. A number of narrow channels in the area, endowed with ‘thila’ formations at their centers, offer excellent dives right at our doorstep. Two vessels are also known to have wrecked in the atoll, although both are at the island of Kudahuvadhoo, on the southern rim of the atoll; Liffey wrecked in 1879 and Utheemu 1, which ran aground in 1960.

Madhiriguraidhoo is the name of the wonderful island which lodges Palm Beach Resort, a structure designed with taste and realised with a full respect of the nature.

The island of Madhiriguraidhoo located in Lhaviyani Atoll is one of the biggest island in Maldives, long almost 2 km and wide 400 meters. The 4km of white sand beach which surround the island are really exceptional, accompanied by a luxuriant vegetation.
On the north tip of the island, a spectacular sandbank lengthening towards the sea allows you the enjoy the sunset. Around the island there is a huge lagoon, and the level of the water is lower on the east side.
